Fall is bringing us cold winds, rainy days and fewer times with the glorious warmth of the sun. However, we here at Shakti Om Spiritual Center are keeping the warmth and spirit of the sunshine going with all of the new and exciting events coming up.

The holiday season is fast approaching and keeping the stress levels down is a priority. Many of the programs this fall will be helpful in reducing stress and improving your energy levels and overall outlook.

So, come to as many as you can. Have fun, reduce stress and receive positive energy. It's all good!

Bhajans with Gopala Krishna of Hridaya Hermitage

If you like the music and lyrical chants of Krishna Das, you'll absolutely love the Bhajans with Gopala Krishna of Hridaya Hermitage. Come, listen and participate in making beautiful music!

Nothing could be more deeply rooted in the Indian tradition of Yoga than the purely devotional and divine praise to the primordial Yogi, Shiva. Bhajans are simple prayers in the Sanskrit language accompanied with music to express the many-splendored emotions of love and adoration for God. This wonderful opportunity elicits an experience of complete release and self-surrender to the divine through singing. Come and feel the power of devotion and worship to the resounding rhythms of percussion, harmonium, and the deep vibrations and resonance of Shiva mantra.

Gopala Krishna has been pursuing the mastery of advanced Yogic practices and the application of Shivambhu Kaya Kalpa at Hridaya Hermitage for over 15 years. He has obtained his vast knowledge of Yoga and the ancient healing arts of India from traditional oral teachings passed down through the great masters of the Sri Bhusunda Vashi Lineage. Gopala is a direct disciple of this oldest living lineage and continues his practice under the personal guidance of living master Sri Bhagavan Vashi Baba.

Beginning Shamanic Journey class

• Sunday, November 15, 2009: Beginning Shamanic Journey class.

  This Beginning Shamanic Journey class is an intensive one-day course (normally administered over several class meetings).

  Join ChandraMa to learn basic Shamanic Journeying. Participants will learn to journey to the Lower World, the Upper World and Middle World. Students will also learn how to retrieve a power animal for another person. This class is designed to teach basic Shamanic practices so that what is learned can be used to further one’s spiritual development while living in today’s world.

Wednesday Drumming Circle

The Wednesday Drumming Circle that meets regularly has had a format change. Instead of a general spiritual focus, there will be a featured topic or event, with a fee based on the content. Event details are always listed on the website so you can plan to attend those that interest you. Of course, everyone is welcome to come to all Wednesday Circles.

Upcoming events for Wednesday evenings:

• October 28, 2009: Samhein (Halloween) Celebration - Samhein Celebration! We will have a very special Samhein Celebration this year, including a Fire Ceremony (weather permitting). Please bring food to share with the group.

• November 4, 2009: Bhajans with Hridaya Hermitage - Bhajans are simple prayers in the Sanskrit language accompanied with music to express the many-splendored emotions of love and adoration for God. This wonderful opportunity elicits an experience of complete release and self-surrender to the divine through singing.

• November 11, 2009: Intent Boards - bring scissors and/or magazines to cut up to use for our boards. Other supplies will be provided i.e. glue sticks, magazines, poster board etc.

• November 18, 2009: General Spiritual Evening

• November 25, 2009: No group tonight - Group has been canceled due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Enjoy family and friends on this traditional holiday feast.

• December 2, 2009: Tarot for the Year - We will use Tarot cards and do the Wheel of the Year spread and the Astrological spread (among others).

• December 9, 2009: Readings with YaMaWey - Come and get your reading with YaMaWey (a contemporary crystal skull). Everyone will get a personal message and be able to ask questions.

• December 16, 2009: Winter Solstice Celebration - Bring a gift (can be gently used) and get a gift. Please bring food to share.

• December 23, 2009: No group tonight - Group has been canceled due to the Christmas holiday. - Merry Christmas and see you next week!

• December 30, 2009: General Spiritual Evening
